Frigid.

“Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” - Matthew 24:12-14

It has been a cold winter. I am not complaining so much as stating a fact! The cold drives people inside, produces pain for some, and keep us holding on to the “better days” of summer.

There is a lesson here when it comes to love: the colder our love, the more we are driven into our own little worlds. We allow not the elements of snow and wind to influence us, but the elements of wickedness and pride, to drive us inward. Instead, we must endure in telling the world about Jesus and His kingdom.

When you love someone, you tell people. Our love for Jesus, fuelled by adoration and obedience, needs to compel us to tell others about the gospel and His kingdom. Don’t allow your love to enter a season of winter. Yet your love remain hot in its usefulness and urgency.
